Our future
Moving out of Special Measures
Since October 2006, we have made significant progress to improve standards at Chalgrove. With the support of everyone – from local authority to parents – we’ve taken vital steps towards getting out of special measures.
Current situation
A lot of good work has already been done to raise the school out of special measures and we hope you can take us the rest of the way. In the meantime, here are some of the initiatives already in place:
- A strong leadership team is instilling new confidence in staff, pupils and parents
- Curriculum co-ordinators are making lessons more consistent
- A pupil council provides invaluable feedback from our strongest assets
- Increased parental involvement has enhanced shared learning and growth
- Process started to appoint a full-time SENCO/Inclusion Manager and an Advanced Skills Teacher ICT this year.
Grand design: New school building
Barnet Council is commited to turning Chalgrove into a flagship school. As part of Barnet’s Primary School Capital Investment Programme, Chalgrove is getting a new, eco-friendly school building. The building programme will bring about improved teaching facilities as well as the creation of an on-site nursery.
